Strava Local Legends

Local legend is an urban myth, or folklore, about a specific place, event, or creature that persists in popular memory. These stories are often circulated in any form of media, including newspaper articles, mobile news apps, social networks, or even a simple conversation among friends at a party or around a campfire. They may contain some factual elements, but they are largely fictional. These stories often have a lesson or moral, but they can also be entertainment or simply interesting to share.

For Strava subscribers, the Local Legend achievement will be awarded to the athlete who matches to a segment the most over a rolling 90-day period regardless of pace or speed. The segment details page will display a Local Legend section listing the current leader. Athletes can tap on this section to see how their efforts compare, as well as women’s and mutual follower’s efforts over the same time period.
