Metallica’s “Hero of the Day” Lyric Video

A person admired for their courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities.

A lyric video has been released for “hero of the day,” which is the second track Metallica have shared from their upcoming remastered and expanded editions of 1996’s “Load.” Directed by Anton Corbijn, the music video follows a drug-addled youth watching his television all day — with every channel featuring members of the band in some capacity: A Western movie starring James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, a boxing match with Hetfield as coach and Ulrich as the fighters, and a news program with the anchorman played by Kirk Hammett.

The remastered Load is set to be released June 13 in a standard 180g 2LP, a 3CD Expanded Edition and a mammoth Deluxe Box Set, with all formats including a Spatial Audio mix using Atmos as well as a full unedited version of “The Outlaw Torn,” which was originally edited due to CD constraints on the original release.
